The Interscholastic Mount Vernon Engineering Robotics Team is a place welcome to all middle and high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, business, communications, design, or just about anything! Our student membership represents a group of devoted young people from a diverse set of backgrounds.

At IMVERT, we train, design, plan and build robots to participate in FIRST's programs. FIRST is an international nonprofit organization designed to impart life-long lessons into young people. FIRST encompasses several different levels of competitive robotics. MVHS Robotics participates in both the FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Competition seasons in the Fall and Winter/Spring respectively. If you are interested in learning more about FIRST and its programs, head on over to the FIRST website at www.firstinspires.org.

Current Meeting Schedule:

April 19, 2018

On April 18, the team made a trip out to a beautiful farmhouse to present to the Skagit Community Foundation. The SCF has been one of our most generous donators, contributing $5,000 to us annually for the past 3 years. At the presentation, we got also got to hear from the Theater Arts Guild, featuring a rousing rendition of "Tomorrow" from the musical Annie, the Skagit Audubon Society with two of their famous owl mounts, and T...

March 26, 2018

March has been a busy month for MVHS Robotics. March 2-4 we hosted a robotics
tournament of 38 teams from around Washington. This past weekend we traveled to Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish to compete with 32 other teams from Washington and Oregon. Our robot did not perform as expected and we got a slow start, losing our first three matches. However, by the fourth match our robot was dialed in and we won the next four ma...

Held at Weston High School, it was our first competition of the FTC season. We went against 12 other teams and ended up taking 2nd place while winning 4 out of 5 matches! Our robot did as expected with an effective autonomous that knocked down a jewel and intermittently drove into the safe zone. Our tele-op also did well with an average score of 4 glyphs in a match which made us the only team to be able to score a column. Our...

Today, our Robotics team attended the FTC kickoff down at Auburn High School. It was difficult getting the team there at 6, but one of our members broke a running record to get to the bus before we left! Once there, we got tickets, and each got the choice of putting them in a bag with a plastic game-piece in front of it. The objective was to guess which one was going to be used in this year's game. Most put their's in the bag...

We have finalized a logo design for IMVERT. We will be using this logo for competition, and we are excited to show it off at the FTC kickoff!

July 30, 2017

Today, we participated in the Mount Vernon Farmer's Market. During this time, we talked to the community about what we do as a club. We displayed and ran this year's FTC and FRC robots for the interested parents and kids, and allowed them to control the actuators. This was a fun experience and we enjoyed interacting with the community!

We are excited with our current progress and are looking for ways to improve upon it.
